Pittsburgh is on a roll with the recent installation of new bike lanes, on street bike corrals, and bike racks including the new Squirrel Hill bike Corral directly in front of the Independent Brewing Company. We think that our city becoming more bike friendly is a great reason to celebrate as well as an opportunity to raise money for a great cause. We’ll be riding from Kindred Cycles to the Independent Brewing Company and along the way we’ll be touring Pittsburgh’s recent improvements to our cycling infrastructure.
The plan is to leave Kindred by no later than 5:30 and take a leisurely ride through the city ending at IBC and their new bike corral. Our route will make a point to highlight the newly added bike infrastructure. The pace will be slow and beginner friendly although we will encounter a few hills (this is Pittsburgh after all). We plan on arriving at Independent Brewing Company around 6:30 (In case you can't make the ride and want to meet us there) where 1$ from every beer sold will go to the Amazing Bike Camp, teaching children with special needs to ride on two wheels. While we should have plenty of daylight for the ride to the Indy but don't forget to bring blinkies if you plan on riding home later.
